This guide will demonstrate how to use certain components within the digital narrative.

Add Featured Media

To add a featured media to your narrative:

1. Click the button labeled Add Featured Media.

2. Next, click the button labeled Select media.

   A modal window with tabs labeled My Media, All Media, Add Image, and Add Video will appear.

3. If you have no media uploaded to the site, click the Add Image tab and then click the button labeled Choose File to upload a new image to the site.

   Otherwise, select the desired media from the My Media tab or the All Media tab by clicking on the thumbnail of the desired image and then clicking the Select media button to confirm your selection.

   Note

   Media listed in the All Media tab are media added to the site by other site users.

4. Next, choose the display option for your featured media and provide a caption and citation.

   Note

   For low resolution images, or images that appear pixelated, select Partial width as the display option for your featured media.

Embed a StoryMap (or other iframe)

To embed a StoryMap (or other iframe) into your narrative:

1. In the Main Content section of the narrative form, click the button labeled Add Text.

2. Choose iframe from the dropdown menu labelled Text format.

3. Paste your StoryMap's embed code into the text box. 

Add a Reference to Existing Content

To reference an existing content, such as a Timeline or Location:

1. In the Main Content section of the narrative form, click the button labeled Add Content Reference.

2. Next, click the button labeled Add existing Content.

   An iframe with tabs labeled My Content and All Content will appear.

3. Select the desired content from the My Content tab or the All Content tab by clicking the checkbox next to the title of the content you want to include.

   Note

   Content listed in the All Content tab are content added to the site by other site users.

4. At the bottom of the iframe, click the button labelled Select content.
